Danielle Foot has continued her rise through the off-road racing ranks to record another dominant victory on her Sherco. The Geelong-based racer stormed to another win in the Victorian Off-Road Championship at Pakenham over the weekend on her Road & River Sherco 125 SE-R.
“It was a bit slick but a lot of fun,” said Foot. “It was a short loop for a cross country and I did eight laps in two-hours. It rained on and off until half way through the race then the sun came out. It was a nice change from the dusty events we’ve done this year and the grass-track was so much fun.”
Foot dominated the race winning by a healthy three minutes and 38 seconds. Although not recording any points for two of the rounds in the Championship, Foot is just 14-points in arrears of the Championship lead.
The next race on the agenda for Foot is rounds 8 and 9 of the Australian Off-Road Championship in Kingston, South Australia this coming weekend, September 22-23.
“I’m really excited for the AORC in Kingston this weekend,” offered Foot. “I feel like I have a good chance of a championship podium. I never thought this would be possible and it wasn’t even my goal at the start of the year. I thought I’d try my best and see if I could get close or be in the top five. But I’m feeling good and I love the terrain we’ll be racing this weekend so I am really looking forward to it and hopefully I can make the podium again.”
