Strong Finishes for Reynders at Mendooran AORC Opener

Motul Pirelli Sherco Team rider Jonte Reynders made a strong start to his 2023 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) campaign with 4-3 finishes in Mendooran (NSW) on the weekend of March 25-26.

The opening rounds saw a record-breaking 370 riders from across Australia navigate Mendooran’s rough and rutted loamy tracks.

Heavy rainfall on Friday afternoon resulted in prime conditions for Saturday’s opener. Reynders rode smart and consistently across the seven Sprints finishing just off the podium in the stacked E2 class. Sunday would see the hard-charging Tasmanian improve his form finishing third overall for round two. Reynders currently sits third in the E2 championship points standings, only 12 points shy of the lead.

“The tracks were fast, super rough and really deep this weekend, especially after Friday’s heavy rainfall”, Reynders explained. “Traditionally, this isn’t my strongest venue on the calendar. Saturday, we got off to a slow start; however, by Sunday, I felt I was riding well. To leave with a fourth and third isn’t too bad to kick off the 2023 season with. I’m stoked with my new Sherco 300 SEF 4-stroke; the handling, particularly, was outstanding! We have many positives to take away with us for QMP,” concluded Reynders.

Rounds three and four of the 2023 AORC will be held in Queensland Moto Park on April 22-23.
