Sherco riders Anthony Solar and Chris Perry battled through punishing conditions to round out the podium at the 2022 annual running of the Wildwood Rock Extreme Enduro. The pair finished in second and third place respectively in the premier ‘Gold’ class aboard their 300 SE Factory race bikes.

The popular event celebrated its twelfth year of running after being cancelled in 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions, riders and spectators alike flocked to Melbourne’s North-West to challenge themselves and witness Australia’s best take on the brutal course.

Entering the race as 4-times defending champions, team Sherco was determined to make it a five-peat however, main-rival Wade Ibrahim had other ideas, putting down an incredible opening lap and establishing a lead just shy of 30 minutes on the field.

Second-placed Anthony Solar would find his groove after a first-lap mishap and started to claw back the time lost, getting to within 7 minutes of Ibrahim at one stage. Unfortunately, the gap couldn’t be closed any further with Solar having to ultimately settle for the runners-up honours, his best Wildwood result to date.

Fan-favourite Chris Perry also earned a personal-best finish rounding out the podium and claimed the first-ever Victorian Hard Enduro Series championship title in the process, as the event also doubled as the final round for the newly established state series.

With the official racing calendar concluded for the year, Sherco Australia would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to their riders, sponsors, series promoters and loyal supporters.
