NORTON'S SHERCO DEBUT IN DESERT MOTOX

11/03/2022

Callum Norton's induction into the Motul Pirelli Sherco Race Team takes its most exciting turn on Sunday, March 13 when he makes his debut on the 450 SEF Factory in the Desert MotoX event in Mittyack (Vic).

The 21-year-old's itching to get amongst it, and also use the event to fine-tune his preparation for the opening two rounds of the Australian Off-Road Championship in Cherrabah (Qld) on March 19-20 alongside incumbent Jonte Reynders.

"I couldn't be happier with how I've settled into my new environment over the last few months," said Norton. "There's always a little bit of nervousness moving into a new team, but the support from Sherco Australia has been second to none and I love the way the 450 SEF Factory handles and gets its power to the ground.

"This week's event in Mittyack will be all about sand and more sand, but I've enjoyed great success in the junior and senior ranks in those conditions – and I'm looking forward to finally riding the Sherco in the hot-bed of competition.

"Practice is one thing, but now for the real thing. I can't wait."

The Mallee Motorcycles-backed Desert MotoX will be held on the expansive property of another big Sherco name, Nathan Trigg, who will also compete on Sunday alongside several others who'll be piloting the French firebrands including Ryan Cossens and Lachlan McClelland.

The 170 senior riders will compete across six separate classes in three 30-minute (plus a lap) legs. The circuit is about 10km long.

All the action begins at 8:45am on Sunday, and entry is free for spectators. There will be on-site catering.

The event will be held at 123 Kerr Road, Mittyack (Vic). Google link: https://bit.ly/363YwR3
