Sherco has produced a stunning result at the Red Bull Romaniacs extreme enduro in Romania, with South African Wade Young and Spaniard Mario Roman finishing second and third on their 300 SEF Factory two-strokes.
The factory-backed duo was always at the sharp end of the pack in the four-day event, with the pecking between the top runners constantly ebbing and flowing – which is the normal in the hotbed and unpredictability of extreme enduro competition at the highest level.
Despite the potential pitfalls, Young managed to keep his powder dry for most of the event, and even won day three outright as he kept the pressure on eventual winner and defending champion Manuel Lettenbichler.

Young finished the event 27 minutes behind Lettenbichler in the Gold Class, with Roman less than six minutes behind his teammate in third position.
Billy Bolt and Jonny Walker completed the top five, while another Sherco top gun, American Cody Webb, was 12th.
Meanwhile, it was a disaster for extreme enduro legend and former Romaniacs winner Graham Jarvis, with the veteran failing to finish after rupturing his ACL.
In the Silver class, Sherco came up trumps thanks to American Nick Fahringer, and in Bronze the French manufacturer completed a stellar Romaniacs with a third place for Agust Mar Viggosson.
