Sherco Australia is pleased to announce Nathan Trigg has committed to his third consecutive year of off-road racing with the Motul Pirelli Sherco Team. The Ouyen farmer will race a Sherco 450 SEF Factory edition in 2020 competing in the North West Motorcycle Club Enduro Series and the Hattah Desert Race.
“I’m pumped to be racing for the Motul Pirelli Sherco Team again,” said Trigg. “2018 was my first year with the Team where we won the 450cc class at the Finke Desert Race and I got my best-ever result at the Hattah Desert Race with fifth outright. This year was a tough one with a big crash at Finke but I managed to place seventh at Hattah.”
Trigg has made a name for himself as serious race contender, particularly at the Hattah Desert Race where he pits himself against full-time professional riders at the front of the field.
“I love racing the fast events that are tougher and rougher,” Trigg explained. “I just feel comfortable going fast and the longer races suit me. I just get in a zone and keep on going. I don’t care about racing professional riders, I just race the best I can. I know I have a great bike that is as good as anyone’s. That’s a big thing for me since racing with Sherco. Plenty people didn’t think the Sherco would stand up to the pace, but I’ve proven the Motul Pirelli Sherco Team provide a great bike that is fast and reliable. And it’s just a really fun bike to ride.”
Trigg will race regional events under the guidance of Red Cliffs Sherco dealership, Mallee Motorcycles with backing from Sherco Australia and will build momentum towards the Hattah Desert Race in July where he will race for the Motul Pirelli Sherco Team and Mallee Motorcycles Sherco.
“We’re really pleased to have Nathan continue racing with us,” said Motul Pirelli Sherco Team manager Derek Grundy. “Nathan is a very talented rider and he rides the bike so well. He’s a smart racer, very calculated and we put a lot of trust in him to showcase the Sherco brand. Together, we have proven to be a very competitive Team and we’ll be sharpening our efforts to give the 2020 Hattah Desert Race a real shake. Nathan and the boys from Mallee Motorcycles know what they are doing and they’ll be out to dominate every race they enter.”
