Sherco Factory rider Wade Young wins Megawatt extreme enduro in Poland

Wade Young has backed up his incredible 2018 Red Bull Romanic’s win with a dominant victory at the Red Bull 111 Megawatt event in Poland. The Sherco Factory star was too strong for the star-studded field to lead home Taddy Blazusiak and Billy Bolt.

Held in Europe’s largest coal mine, the Megawatt attracted 1000 riders and after the prologue on Saturday, 500 competitors had earned their place on the start line. Young was simply too good aboard the new 2019 Sherco 300 SE Factory edition and claimed the race with a two-minute margin back to second.

“It was so important to manage this race well,” said Young. “I felt good, and to win here after winning at Red Bull Romaniacs is awesome. I’m so happy right now. I almost had a perfect race. At the start I saw the flag drop but I was a little behind, so I kept it flat out around the outside. A few riders fell, which put me about fourth. I had a few little crashes myself but I managed to settle things down and use my speed to good effect. I put it together and felt strong. It’s awesome to get the win.”

Young’s victory at Megawatt gave the new 2019 model Sherco 300 SE a very high-profile seal of approval with the Sherco easily accounting for the 3 x 30KM laps.

“The bike was awsome,” Young explained. “I felt really comfortable on the new 300.”

Although not contesting the entire series, Young is now ranked third in the World Enduro Super Series standings.

Wade Young is scheduled to race the upcoming Wildwood Rock Extreme in Melbourne on November 4, 2018 where Australian fans will be able to witness the Red Bull athlete in action.
