The Motul Pirelli Sherco pony express team of Andy Wilksch and Nathan Trigg raced to a fine second place result at the Limestone Coast 6-Hour event in Naracoorte, South Australia. The Green Triangle Enduro Club event was staged at the Morex Complex in ideal racing conditions on a 22-minute cross country lap.
Wilksch and Trigg raced a pair of Motul Pirelli Sherco 450 SEF-Rs and powered around the track that had everything from sand to rocks, log crossings and perfect open sections that weaved between trees.
“We ended up second to Milner and Snodgrass but we rode solid all day,” said Wilksch after the race. “There were some tough sand sections but our 450s were flawless. The suspension was spot-on and I couldn’t fault the bike. I love that 450 and I’m keen to do some more racing on one. We ran Pirelli Scorpion MX 410 rear tyres that were awesome, even in the rocks.”
The second-place result was a solid performance by Wilksch and Trigg who showcased just how versatile the Sherco 450 SEF-R can be.
“I had a ball,” explained Trigg. “It was an awesome event and I can see it growing next year. It was so much fun it’ll become one of the best events each year. Racing with Andy was a lot of fun. I’m not sure who got the fastest lap between us, but it was close. Our 450s were flying.”
Trigg and Wilksch will race the Australian Off-Road Championship rounds 8 and 9 in Kingston, South Australia this coming weekend, September 22-23.
