Australian off-road racer Andy Wilksch will live his dream this weekend when he competes in his first world championship EnduroGP. The Motul Pirelli Sherco Team rider from central-western Victoria will race a Sherco 300 SEF-R in Zschopau, Germany under the guidance of the hugely successful CH Racing Team.
Wilksch will ride from the same pit as CH Racing Sherco star and 2017 EnduroGP World Champion Matthew Phillips. There is no doubt Wilksch is in an incredible position to learn from the best.
“We arrived in Zschopau and met with the CH Racing Team yesterday,” said an excited Andy Wilksch. “Motul Pirelli Sherco Team boss Dave Suter prepared my bike and I tested it before walking some of the tests we will race with Matthew Phillips. This is an unreal experience and I’m loving every minute of it.”
Tasmanian native, Phillips currently sits in fourth position of the EnduroGP rankings and is setting his sights on making the podium this weekend. With Phillips recently announcing his retirement from world championship EnduroGP racing, the Tasmanian is intent on completing the 2017 season with the final round win.
The GP of Germany will kick off with the Super test Friday night before rounds 15 and 16 of the 2017 EnduroGP will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 21 and 22.
