Danielle Foot and her Road & River Sherco 250 SE Factory edition have created history by becoming the first female to take out the 250cc 2-Stroke class at the Hattah Desert Race. The Geelong-based rider endured unusually wet and wild weather conditions that caused many riders to abandon the race or succumb to mechanical failure, yet Foot persevered to claim the class victory.
“I’m absolutely pumped to take out the 250cc 2-Stroke Class,” said Foot. “I made it hard on myself coming from seventh in class and 111th outright off the start. This race was definitely about consistency. I just stuck at it. The boys at Road & River Sherco in Geelong had my bike spot-on. This bike is indestructible. My family put so much into supporting me that this win is for them as much as it is satisfying for myself.”
Foot’s gutsy win comes off the back of her hard-fought third place at the recent Finke Desert Race in Alice Springs on the very same bike.
“Danielle is a focussed competitor and she’s proven hard work pays off with this Hattah class win,” said Sherco Australia’s Stephen Tuff. “Dani loves the Sherco 250 SE and she rides it incredibly well. This is the second year running that Sherco has claimed this class win and Dani can proudly have her name against it for 2019.”
