Geelong off-road racer Danielle Foot is preparing for her second year of Australian Off-Road Championship racing with the backing of local Sherco dealership, Road and River. After exceeding all expectations by placing third in the 2018 Championship, Foot is excited to begin her 2019 racing campaign with her eyes firmly fixed on the podium.
“Last year was an incredible learning curve for me,” Foot explained. “The Off-Road Championship format and varied styles of riding required was something I needed to learn. Being able to adapt to unpredictable tracks and conditions is a skill I picked up along the way and with a year of experience in the bank I am ready for more.”
Foot will contest the opening two rounds of the 2019 Australian Off-Road Championship this weekend, March 9 and 10 in Toowoomba, Queensland where temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid-thirties degrees Celsius.
“I’m really keen to get racing,” Foot continued. “I have a new Sherco 250 SE Factory edition and a 300 SEF Factory edition from Road and River in Geelong and both bikes are amazing. Alpinestars has me kitted out in their best gear including the SM8 helmet, Tech10 boots and Techstar Factory gear so I really do have everything I need to perform. Even with a year behind me I still have a lot to learn in off-road racing so my goal is to remain consistent and work at improving every round so I can put my Sherco on the podium.”
Danielle Foot will race Saturday and Sunday, March 9 and 10 at 107 Kherim Rd, Murphys Creek QLD. The format of racing is enduro sprints for both rounds.
