>> A RAIN of championships for Sherco
The Sherco Academy: José Maria Juan - 2004 Junior World Champion,
Christian Kregeloh - 2004 UEM Youth Cup Champion.

Jose Maria Juan produced some spectacular results this year on his 2.9 Sherco. This very talented young 17 year old Spanish rider won the Junior 2004 World cup. Juan had a spectacular season with 5 outright wins and 13 podiums out of the 15 possible.
In the other news, the new promising star from Germany, Christian Kregeloh won the 2004 UEM Youth Cup. Kregeloh is only 16 year old and is Joan Pons protégé; he is the first German rider to have a bright future in several years.
Sherco's satisfaction with these results is doubled, because Juan and Kregeloh are fruit of the Sherco Academy, the company's developmental program for talented young riders. The Sherco Academy has been created for promising young riders by Sherco in collaboration with the Sherco importers.
Sherco plans to introduce a few small changes to the Sherco Academy next year, these changes have been requested by Joan Pons who is the new director, they are being made to further improve this outstanding program.

>> Sherco Riders Dominate the 2004 Australian Trials Championships

Colin Zarczynski (SHERCO) has clinched the 2004 Australian Trials Championship which was held at Pacific Park, Sydney on October 16/17. On a hot Sydney weekend Colin overcame the physically demanding sections to lead by a big margin after the first day he then extended his lead on Sunday to take a clear win over the rest of the field.
In the other placings Colin's older brother Kevin Zarczynski (SHERCO) finished second in front of Victoria's Dylan Rees (SHERCO). The big European style sections suited the more seasoned riders with the top 10 finishers all having had recent overseas Trials experience.
In other classes Sherco took the top 4 places in Masters (over 35's) led by Sherco's own Don Murray followed by Graham Peace, Kerrin Phillips & John Rees. Top Sydney based 'A' grade rider Martin O'Connor was in contention for a place before having a nasty incident in one of the steep rocky sections late on the first day. Martin was kept in the hospital overnight with surgery required on his left foot.
In the Ladies classes Michelle Owen (SHERCO) took the win in the open class followed by Canberra's Bev Anderson-Tranter (SHERCO) and Kate Field took a well deserved win in the Junior Ladies class on her Sherco 200.
Sherco had the highest number of bikes entered in the National Titles & filled six of the top ten placings in Open Solo. Trialzone & Sherco distributors Moto-Central Group would like to congratulate all the finishers in the 2004 Trialzone Australian Trials Titles. For more information www.trials.com.au.

>> Graham Jarvis wins the prestigious Scott Trial

In October we saw one of the most prestigious events in the British Trials calendar, the Scott Trial, which is organized by the Richmond Motor Club.
This event, which celebrated its 90th Anniversary this year, is reputedly to be the toughest one-day event in the World. The Trial consists of 200 riders, with 76 sections, an 80 mile loop and a VERY limited time in which to complete the course. Consider it an Enduro event ridden on Trials bikes and that pretty much sums it up!
With heavy rain having battered North Yorkshire for days prior to the event, it was going to be tough going. The normally easy-flowing rivers and streams had become raging torrents. Special mention has to go the Organizers and in particular the team who ran round ahead of the competitors altering the course to suit the conditions.
The weather was kind to us on day one, however and while it was dull and overcast for much of the day, the rain didn't put in an appearance. The first man away was Robert Allinson of Leighton Buzzard with the rest of the field following at 20 second intervals.
A local rider, John Sunter was leading towards the end, but a puncture killed off his chances and allowed Sherco mounted Graham Jarvis to pass and take the win. Beta-mounted Ian Austermuhle of Pickering took the runner-up place with Amos Bilbao on the 4-stroke Montesa taking third.
This is the second major event that Graham has won this year, earlier he won the prestigious SSDT on his 2.9 Sherco, it looks like Graham thrives in these events. Congratulations to Graham on his victory, we also want to congratulate him on the birth of his twins (A boy and a girl).

>> Mike Valade and Jeremy Joly win for Sherco
>> the 50 cc Supermotard and Enduro championships

For yet another more year, Sherco dominates the French 50 cc championships. The high popularity of the Sherco 50 cc models in France is due in part to the very active Enduro and SuperMotard competition teams. The organization of the well known Sherco Cup Supermotard series also plays an important role in promoting the brand.
Mike Valade is the winner of the Supermotard championship and is the rider who has been chosen to introduce the new Sherco 4.5i Supermotard in next year's championship class. Mike also won this event in 2003.
Jeremy Joly is the winner of the Enduro championship on his Carenzi prepared Sherco 50. Jeremy absolutely dominated the race this year and won the championship outright, he finished second in 2003.
The 50cc class racing has proven to be very successful for Sherco. Sherco is the undisputed champion of the 50cc French SuperMotard Championship with outright wins in the past three years.
Sherco will continue to promote the French "Sherco Cup" in 2005, those riders who are interested in competing should contact Sherco direct. For a specific fee the rider will receive a new factory prepared 50cc SuperMotard racing bike along with everything required for competition, (boots, helmet, leathers etc.)

>> David Millan Spanish 125cc trials Champion

Another Sherco Academy member, the youngster of the group, has achieved one of this year's goals, to win the Spanish Championship in the 125 class. David Millan is only 14 year's and is an old world bike trial champion.

>> Sherco presented its complete product line at the Munich show in September

In September Sherco presented its complete 2005 product line of 17 models at the Munich Intermot show.
The model that drew the most interest was the new Sherco 3.2 4T which is scheduled for production in the spring of 2005, this bike was already reviewed in the last issue of Sherco mailnews and many trials fans are anxiously waiting for it.
The biggest surprise was the new 250 cc 4T engine that will be the heart of a brand new enduro model that is scheduled for late 2005 production. This engine has DOHC with 4 valves; injection system powered by Magnetti Marelli and no kickstarter system (it only has an electric starter) the engine weighs a mere 20 kg.!!!
Also present at the show was the new Sherco 4.5i SuperMotard model, a logical evolution of the Sherco 4.5i Enduro model. The general public was very impressed with the design of the bike which should be available this summer.
The show was a great success and Sherco is excited about the future, we are continuing to add new models and refine our existing ones. The new "05" Trials models are the very best yet and are the result of years of competitive success.

>> homage to The History of the Motorcycle

The Motorcycle Museum of Bassella is one of the most exciting ways to introduce someone to the history of motorcycling. It was opened in February of 2002, and it's the first permanent showroom in Spain exclusively dedicated to the motorcycling world.
There, in the 1000 m2. showroom, visitors can see a full line of motorcycle's, racing, street, off-road etc. they all have great historical interest. All of the motorcycles are perfectly restored and displayed in a space dedicated to this purpose.
The showroom is organized on two different floors.
The first floor is assigned to the permanent show. 50 exceptional units of all styles the display includes the name of the bike and its history. Most of them have been restored by Mr. Mario Soler, the father of Estanislao Soler, who is the founder and director of the Museum.
The British trademark Norton has a special display in the museum, although it closed down 20 years ago, it still fills a special place in the heart of many motorcycle lovers. This is due to the fact that it produced high capacity sporting motorcycles which for many decades were the preference of the international motorcycling public.
The museum also includes areas that can be used for product launches, conferences, meetings…A recent addition in the rear of the building is a circuit where new riders can be taught basic motorcycle riding skills.
Another attraction of the Museum is the high quality of its structure. It is located in a very beautiful area surrounded by mountains and a forest in an area visited by many tourists.
