| | | Sherco Team Rider, Graham Jarvis, got married to Sonya Rathmell (They have been partners for 5 years, Sonya is the eldest daughter of UK Sherco Importer Malcolm Rathmell), on 2 November 2002 at 1pm. The service was held in Summerbridge, North Yorkshire - close to Graham & Sonya's home. Sonya had been nervously organizing everything for the previous 3 months, while Graham had been acting pretty cool! When the day arrived, the roles reversed. Sonya was extremely excited and Graham was more nervous than what he is at the World Championship! Having to go to the pub for an hour before to have a few drinks !! | | | Sonya was 10 minutes late for the ceremony, when she finally arrived the service got underway and lasted for 50 minutes. She wore an Ivory Chiffon Dress, with the bodice covered in Pearls & Sequins. Graham was in a Morning Suit (Black jacket, pinstriped trousers, Ivory Shirt with ivory cravat and gold waistcoat). Best Man was Martin Rathmell, with the ushers being John "Killer" Kendrew & Ray Perkins (from Mail Marketing - Grahams sponsor since 1994). The bridesmaids were Carly Rathmell (Sonya's sister) and Jen Archer (long-time friend). The weather was good until they were in the car on the way to the hotel for the Wedding Breakfast, then it rained for the rest of the day. The party continued until the early hours of the morning when everybody retired to bed. Guests included the likes of Ex World Champ Martin Lampkin & his wife Isabel, Mick & Carol Grant (road racer from the 1970-80's - Sonya's godparents), all the Connor Family, James Whitham (British Supersport Road Racer), Peter Cartwright & his partner Pippa, and the big Sherco Boss, Marc Teissier & his family from France. It was actually Marc's 40th Birthday on the day of the wedding, and Sonya got everybody to sing "Happy Birthday" to him at the Wedding Breakfast, followed by a surprise cake later on in the evening. Graham turned into the latest "John Travolta" in the evening and nobody could get him off the dance floor - surprising a lot of people! All in all it was a brilliant day to remember. | |
