New 2007 Sherco Enduro and Supermotard Models

Improved reliability and efficiency, several new components and a totally new look are the main characteristics of the new 4.5i and 5.1 Enduro and Supermotard models. The motorcycles are more mature, better finished and more effective.

The changes and updates are the fruit of an aggressive racing campaign conducted by our racing department and our official factory riders. The teams competed in the Enduro World Championship as well as other prestigious races; the lessons learned in these competitions have been applied to the 2007 4.5i and 5.1i Enduro and Supermotard models. These models have been completely renewed in order to achieve improved reliability, a greater dynamic efficiency and a totally new image. These objectives were achieved through the interaction of the riders and Sherco R & D department.
The end result is a motorcycle with a stronger frame, higher quality components, totally new appearance, improved engine management and the ability to choose ignition operating curves. Another notable aspect of the new Sherco’s is that the original equipment components are of extremely high quality, similar to what is usually offered in the after market. This is usually not the case with most other brands, this choice of factory installed components guarantees the end user a more efficient and reliable machine from day one.

Jacques Coll has left us

Earlier this month, we received the unpleasant news that Jacques Coll has passed away after an arduous illness. To this clear minded french engineer is owed the credit for the design of the complete line of motors for the Sherco trial motorcycles. When Marc Teissier began to forge the project that would propel Sherco into the forefront as one of the most important marks in the world of trial, he placed his confidence for the motor design in the very capable hands of Jacques. From the pencil of Coll was also born the initial designs for the trial 2T as well as 4.5i. He had an enormous experience in motor design that went back to the times when he worked in the military aviation field, which was always a point of reference for all the work he did for Sherco. Rest in Peace!

Cristophe Bruand rides the Sherco 3.2 4T to a second place victory in the Three days of Cingles Trial

He will ride the 4T in the next world round competition

The Sherco 3.2 4T shows its potential by finishing in second place at the Classis Trial “The Three Days of Cingles”. The French rider Cristophe Braund had requested that he be allowed to participate in the World Round competition on the 3.2 4T, after this excellent second place finish, he has been given the green light. This finish demonstrates that the 3.2 is a capable and reliable weapon. Albert Cabestany also rode the Sherco with valves during one day of the competition (for exhibition only) and was very pleased with its performance. Despite facing more experienced riders, Braund managed to place the blue motorcycle on the second step of the podium, thus placing the first Sherco 4T trials motorcycle on the podium of a major event. Based on these results, the decision has been made to campaign the 4T in the upcoming World Championship.

Sherco team rider Loris Gubian
wins the French Trials Championship

Another trophy has been added to the already full case of trophies won by Sherco, with the latest win by Loris Gubian in the Senior 1 category of the French Trails Championship. The Sherco rider was able to obtain the overall title with an intelligent last lap in the race which was held in Breese. The conditions were very chaotic and complicated because of the heavy rain that fell during the entire event. Thanks to an excellent season in which he never failed to podium, he also obtained two outright victories; Loris arrived at this event with a solid advantage of ten points over his nearest rival. This lead allowed him to enter the event with some greater tranquility than his competitors. Loris finished this event in third place which automatically gave him the overall title in front of Nicolas Karim and Julien Arnaud.

Final classification:

1 Loris Gubian (Sherco)

104 pts
2 Nicolás Karim (Gas Gas)
91 pts
3 Julien Arnaud (Gas Gas)  90 pts
