Availability of the 2006 Sherco Trials Models

The Sherco assembly lines in Caldes of Montbui are in full swing, producing the new trials models, and at this moment they are beginning to be shipped out to the worldwide Network of Official Sherco Dealers and Distributors. 2006 marks the year that the most complete model lineup of trials bikes has been completely redesigned. The main redesign concentrates on the totally new frame which is lighter and more compact; the tubing is now triangular in profile and is finished in a bright black matt finish, a color that has been extended to the rims, offering an incredibly attractive esthetic appearance.

The suspensions have received a major update, the engine and the rest of the bike has also received an extensive number of updates which has resulted in a family of trials bikes that is totally renewed. Sherco is the only manufacturer in the world of trials motorcycles that offers models of 2 and 4T, with a complete range of five models of 2T: 0.5, 0.8, 1.25, 2.5, 2.9 and one of 4T, the 3.2 4T, model that will enter production, also with interesting news, in January of 2006.

Sherco took advantage of the recent Paris Motorcycle show to present to the public for the very first time the brand new Sherco 2.5 Enduro model. We also displayed the redesigned 50cc SM and Enduro models as well as the full model lineup of our trials bikes, which had been previewed at the recent Trials des Nations which was held in Sestriere, Italy. Sherco continues to show that it is a player in the Enduro market with the release of the all new 2.5 Enduro. This bike has been specifically developed to compete in the E1 category and will enter final production in the summer of 2006. This new Sherco 2.5 Enduro continues in the footsteps of its older sister, with a very similar appearance, however the chassis and motor are completely new, being designed exclusively for this model, emphasizing the goal of light weight the engine uses an electronic injection system.

The 50 Enduro and 50SM (Supermotard) have a totally renewed appearance inspired by the larger models of the trademark. As is customary these bikes are offered with first class equipment and components that are tops in their class.

Joan Pedrero wins de Catalonian Enduro Championship

Pedrero & Sherco 4.5i

Pedrero "in action"

The work of evolution by Sherco in the Enduro discipline continues, and is based for the most part on the experience gained through actual competition. The Sherco Enduro team is very young in every sense as is the machine; in spite of this the results are beginning to arrive. Results that are a surprise to everyone involved. In all of the testing and competitions the riders have been the primary pillar, the Spanish rider is Joan Pedrero and the team is working to perfection. The indication is that the future for Sherco in the Enduro discipline is very promising.
Some excellent results have been obtained by Joan in the E2 Category in both the Championship of Spain and the Championship of Catalonia in the 4T class.

We conducted an interview with Joan and here is what he had to say about the development of the new Sherco Enduro machine.

Q. Joan, what is your relationship with the factory, that is to say, in what way are you collaborating the development of the new motorcycle?
A. The motorcycle that I received from the factory was a standard production model; in 2005 the objective was twofold; the primary objective was to prove the reliability of the new machine in competition, and the secondary one was to define improvements that could be applied to the 2006 model.

Q. What all have you done to the machine up to now?
A. The suspension and brakes were very good from the start, as we work on the bike we are always thinking about the requirements of the professional riders, for the normal rider the 2005 bike was more than good.

Q. At the present time you are in fourth place in the E2 Category in the Championship of Spain and have earned the Championship of Catalonia in your class. These are some very good results, are they better than you had expected?
A. Needless to say we are very happy with the results, since we are competing on a brand new motorcycle against models that have been on the market for several years with the objective of gaining the title. This was also my first year in this class and I am competing against riders like Ivan Cervantes (World Champion), Miki Arpa and Oriol Mena, three very famous riders who are totally dedicated to the sport. I must arrange my work schedule as the rider and also owner of my own company which limits my training time on the bike. We hope to place very well in the last race of the season (Cuellar), this is very important to my final placing and also to Sherco.

Q. What do you believe are the virtues of the Sherco Enduro?
A. The Sherco 4.5 is very manageable and it has very good traction. For 2006 they have improved the suspensions and the brakes. This is an excellent bike for any one who desires a good handling, reliable bike that has good strong usable power and gets great traction.
