| David Cobos can hardly wait to
return to the stage of the World Trial now that he's coming to the end of the
recovery programme organised by the medical team who have been looking after
him and who have kept him out of top competitions for more than three months.
He welcomed us to his house in Viladecans for an exclusive interview for
subscribers to Sherco-News . And now here's an extract from the interview.
David, just how bad was your injury
and how are you feeling now ?
The injury was really very serious. Don't forget, I broke my
ligaments and fractured my shin bone. Luckily the worst is over and although I
still have some more physiotherapy to do, as I will need a bit more time to get
back complete mobility of my shin, my knee is perfectly OK and steady.
What did your recovery programme
consist of ?
Our main aim was to get back stability in the knee and then
to recover mobility which is in fact what is proving really difficult. I am
having physiotherapy in Barcelona, at the Delfos Clinic and in Manresa, at the
Gimbe Gymnasium.

The Gimbe Gymnasium was chosen
because that is where I carry out my physical training under the supervision of
my coach Joan Carreras, (whom I would like to thank most warmly for all the
help and support he has given me) and the physiotherapy exercises have been
combined with the training programme. Basically it involves programmed
exercises of 2 physiotherapists who were following the guidelines provided by
my traumatologist Dr. Xavier Flores.
How do you rate your possibilities in
the Championship after everything that has happened?
Really, at this stage in the Championship, I have no chance
of winning any titles this year. So that's why now the only thing that my team
and I want is to get straight back into the competition, get some good results
in the last races and get next year off to a good start.
Your colleague Graham Jarvis is having
his best ever season with Sherco. What do you think about that ?
I think that signing him up was a very positive move. I
haven't been able to take part in the races this year, but Jarvis has managed
to keep Sherco at the top. As regards next year I think we can be a very
competitive team, and put up a good fight for first place in the different
world championships.

When will
you be making your come back to the World Trial?
I expect I will be returning for the World Trial after the
two USA test trials. But I will be returning before that, because, if all goes
well, I hope to take part in the next test trial for the Spanish Championship,
in a month's time.
Would you like to send a message to
the subscribers of Sherco-News?
All I can say to them is to keep on practising with their
Shercos and to have a great time and that we will be meeting very soon. If they
want to know more about me, tell them to come and visit my web page

Thank you, David, for your time. We
wish you lots of luck and hope that your return to the stage of World Trial
will be accompanied by the results we would all like to see. See you soon
