At the same time, Sherco also announces the launch of the street version of the 450 SM, this model has up until now been used exclusively on the track. Without altering the competitive characteristics of the bike, the engineers have modified it so that it meets all of the current regulations. This new SM 450 model can be registered without any problems. It was a matter of extrapolating the same components as are used on the prestigious 450i Enduro model and fitting the SM model with the appropriate tires, rims and brakes in order to adapt it to the booming Supermotard category. |

The rest of the team consists of Victor Colomer, Jorge Alonso, Víctor Colomer Jr, Francesc Cabestany and Dani Garcia. Albert will be supported by the expert Lluis Gallach who will be his minder, while Christian Derthou will exercise the same function for the young rider Gubian. Josep R. Paxau has this to say about his confidence in the team: “Our objective is to be in a position to podium in each event. We believe that if we do that we can win the Championship of the World, we are very conscious that the competition will be very hard, however if we manage to maintain a regularity in the results we will achieve our goal. The incorporation of Lluis Gallach has been fundamental so that Albert Cabestany can ride with greater concentration and confidence, his experience is very important in this sense”. During the winter we have made many changes to Albert’s motorcycle and we believe that those changes will pay off, we are very hopeful about the first event.” |
