Positive competitive debut for the new Sherco 3.2 4T

>> The Sherco 3.2 4T is in production!

The first units of the new Sherco 3.2 4T have begun to leave the assembly line of the Sherco plant in Caldes during the month of March. This is the first trials motorcycle that is equipped with a 4T motor to be manufactured by Sherco. The complex process of developing this new motorcycle and the extensive quality control plan that has been put into place for its production have born fruit and the result is this final launch. During this production year approximately 3,000 trials motorcycles will be produced in the Caldes plant, 500 of these units will be the new 3.2 4T. Sherco has performed a technological marvel by creating a trials motorcycle that is equipped with a 4T motor whose dimensions and weight are the same or less than the 2T machines produced by many of our rivals. This has been made possible thanks to the design of the new motor which was created by Josep Rovira Paxau, and the way he adapted it to the basic same chassis utilized by the rest of the trials models. This guarantees a perfect fit for the new bike and the entrance into the world of motors with valves.

>> Fantastic start of the season for Albert Cabestany and Sherco

The 2005 season marks a new stage for Sherco in its competition activity. As you already know we have embarked on many important new endeavors during the past few years developing many new products. The 4.5i Enduro and the revolutionary new 3.2 4T are two examples. We did not abandon our competitive presence and Sherco has continued to participate in the classic tests of endurance and have been rewarded with wins by Graham Jarvis in the illustrious Scottish. The acquisition of Albert Cabestany marks a milestone for Sherco in World Competition. Albert's debut has been marked by success; he was recently crowned the 2005 World Indoor Trials Runner-up. This is an amazing story as this was his first contact with the blue motorcycle and he had very little time to train or adapt to the new bike. A victory in Lisbon and ten podiums out of a possible twelve events shows that the team of Cabestany/Sherco is going to bring much joy to all of us this year.

>> The first stage of the 2005 Sherco Academy is a success

The first stage of the 2005 academy was held for the riders in March near the city of Canyamars (Barcelona). This was a very special opportunity since the participants were able to compete in the short course of the Santigosa Three Day Trials; this is a classic test of endurance that is held every year during Holy Week. The students were able to compete in several events with very positive results. Loris Gubian of France and Cristian Kregueloh finished first and second in the 125 cc class showing that the Sherco Academy training is very effective.
The academy riders came from countries as diverse as Norway, Austria, Germany, Spain and France, their ages ranged from 10 to 19 years old. The students were trained by the very capable Joan Pons who is the head of the Sherco Academy. The next session will be held during the month of July in Italy at a location that has not yet been confirmed.

>> Positive competitive debut for the new Sherco 3.2 4T

The trial in Santigosa was also very special for Sherco as it represented the competitive debut of the brand new 3.2 4T, the first 4T trials bike developed by the company. The debut was a notable success since the rider Joan Pons finished in fourth place behind three riders who are currently competing for world points. This was an exceptional result for a rider who has been retired and was competing for the first time on the new 4T machine. This finish demonstrates the excellent capabilities of this revolutionary new machine.
