On Jan 4th - Jan 14th
Sherco hosted the most important off-road magazine journalists
and test riders.
The purpose of this gala event was to introduce the highly anticipated
Sherco 4.5i to the public for the first time in a true off road
environment.
The following magazines had journalists and test riders in attendance.
Solo Moto (Spain), Moto Verde (Spain), Moto Crampons (France),
Enduro Magazine (France), Moto Verte (France), Motorrad (Germany),
Motocross Aktuell (Germany), Motorcycle News (England) Trail
Bike Magazine (England), 0300 (Greece), Motocross (Italy), Motoclisimo
Fuoristrada (Italy).
Stefano Passeri the official Sherco works rider introduced the
bike and demonstrated it`s capabilities to all of the attendees.
The area chosen for the testing was a perfect location for testing
a true Enduro bike which the Sherco 4.5i is.
The test results were fantastic all of the test riders loved

Everyone felt that the bike will be loved by the end user,
because it is light, it has very smooth power; it has outstanding
handling, and is very appealing to the eye. In fact this bike
is built from the ground up to be a true Enduro machine.

Continuing the pattern that Sherco has established
they are enthuasistically pursing the World Trials Championship.
The team is lead by Graham Jarvis of Great Britain whose
goal is impove over his 5th place finish of last year.
Sam Connor, also of Great Britain will also be
competing in the World Championship, his goal is to
place well and to win the British Championship.
Jose Maria Juan, last years youth champion will
be competing in the World Junior Cup, his goal is to
win the Junior Cup and to continue his progression in
the sport.
The popular Fred Bochet, will be riding some
of the World Championships but his primary goal is to
defend the Sherco flagship at the French Championship.
Fred will also ride many of the French classic events.
Xavi Vilalta will act as the team manager and
will be the minder for Graham Jarvis.

|
Sherco will continue the Sherco Academy as an introduction
for young into the world of high caliber competition. The
world wide rider selection process has been completed. The
riders were selected based their potential ability. 15 young
riders both male and female have been selected.
Joan Pons will be the instructor and mentor for these promising
young riders. In addition to the events that they will compete
in, they will also participate in three training camps that
Sherco will organize.
These young riders receive training on how to properly prepare
and maintain their bikes for competition. They receive hands
on training from the Sherco master technician Josep Paxau.

Ryan Young Products, official importer of the Sherco
Motorcycles in the USA was present for the 5th time at the
Indianapolis Dealer Show. this is the largest and most prestigious
motorcycle dealer show in the USA.
Each year the Sherco USA/ RYP display has grown in size, this
year the display was twice as large as in 2003.
This year the display featured four trials bikes, the 2.9,
the 1.25, the 0.8 and the Kid 50. In addition to the trials
bikes the new 125 CityCorp was displayed along with a 50cc
Champion of France SuperMotard replica.
Many pictures along with a video of the new 4.5i were on display.
There is a tremendous amount of interest in the new 4.5i,
many people are looking forward to it's introduction. The
official date for the introduction in the USA has not been
determined, it will probably be late 2004 or early 2005.
RYP products were on display as well as products from Summers
Racing Components (SRC) the SRC off-road products are now
being distributed by Ryan Young Products.
Next year the display will be grow again and be located in
almost the same place as in 2004.

Fuel Petcock Standpipe

|
The fuel petcock standpipe
on all of the trials bikes should be checked prior to putting the
bike into service. If the bike is in service the petcock should be
in the "Reserve" position when operating the bike.
We have discovered that some of the standpipes are too long and can
cause the engine to starve for fuel in the normal run position.
